Dear SUNY Colleagues:

As you may know, this Spring, Learning Environments (LE) convened a Task Force of representatives from a cross-section of SUNY to help us identify the requirements of a learning management system that could serve all of SUNY. I am pleased to announce that the committee has finished its report on schedule. At their request, LE is making the report available for public comment.

This report will help guide the evolution of the SUNY Learning Network in the coming months and years. If you would like to give LE your feedback regarding the report please email it to TaskForceComments@sln.suny.edu. All emails received by June 17th will be reviewed by LE staff before the technology strategy is finalized. Every effort will be made to take into consideration emails received after June 17th as well.

Please join me in congratulating the Task Force volunteers (see attached list) for their hard work and thoughtful report. I would like to personally thank them for their efforts, which will benefit all of SUNY. I would also like to express my special gratitude to Dr. George Otte, Director of Instructional Technology for the whole CUNY system, who agreed to serve as our external consultant, pro bono, and to Michael Feldstein, Assistant Director of SLN, who facilitated the Task Force.

Sincerely,

Dr. David Porush, Executive Director
