  SLN Advisory Council Standing Committees

The SLN Advisory Council bylaws require that standing committees be established to inform the council as it provides tactical and strategic guidance to the SLN office on current and future services. Article V of the bylaws describes the Standing Committees.
Standing committees are required for the following major services:

  • Membership (communications, marketing, course catalog)
  • Education and Professional Development (for online teaching and learning environments)
  • Learning Management System Application Services
  • End-User Help Desk

The general purpose of the committees are to:

  • Serve as a conduit to campus perspective,  needs, priorities.
  • Assist SLN with prioritization.
  • Represent the SLN community in discussions to inform decisions.

A survey was released in May of 2008 seeking volunteers for these committees.  Additionally, many people who attended the open session of the SLN Advisory Council Meeting at CIT volunteered.

The final committees members are listed and the description of their areas of purview noted on each committees page.
