"I loved my time at Dutchess Community College and am so grateful for the terrific education I received while attending. A busy public schedule and the demands of family life made attending classes a challenge. Taking Modern American Literature through the SUNY Learning Network was a great opportunity."
Marc Molinaro New York Assemblyman Graduate, Dutchess

Everyone I encountered at Empire, from my advisor to my instructors, cared about my reality and me. I didn't get the sense that I was just another number. For me, that is the difference between somebody quitting and someone making the mark.

It has been a rather interesting experience! Throughout my career as a science educator, I have been an aggressive proponent of inquiry science teaching. One of the major assignments in my course allows the students to DO just that! Online science education can and should involve laboratory and field work. This part of the course has been quite rewarding to the students.”

If it wasn’t for Online courses at Herkimer Internet Academy, I could not have been as successful. It is difficult to maintain a household and a job, so the flexibility, doing your work when it’s convenient for you, is what I liked best.”

I took an online class and was really impressed with the structure of the course. Almost everything I learned was new to me, yet I had no problem understanding the material. Online you are given examples, you can email your instructor if you don't understand something, and help lines are also available. It was a very positive learning experience”

I was so nervous at first due to it being my first online class, but the help and patience of my professor made it not only enjoyable, but rewarding as well.”

I really liked taking the math online... I can work on it and... walk away and come back and do more. You can keep working at it until you get the right outcome. For me it was perfect.”

SUNY campuses are your classrooms.
When you take an online course at SUNY, you are actually signing up or registering with the campus offering the degree program or course you are interested in. You'll receive sign up and log in instructions from the campus or instructor, and work with that campus on scheduling, transcripts, registration and specific details like book requirements and start dates.
What do I do if I want to take courses at different campuses?
You'll need to sign up for the course at the campus offering the course. This may mean signing up at more than one campus. If you are interested in a degree program, make sure all your courses will transfer by contacting the registrar at each campus before you sign up. You can also check transferability between SUNY campuses on the SUNY ACTs web pages.
